Intro[]

Kacy: Hello, Everyone! And welcome to another episode of Character Reviews! So remember ho I reviewed the MLP episode, Viva Las Pegasus with Chloe last time? Well, now I am by myself, and I am here to review another episode of MLP! And I can tell you right now, this review will get quite... colorful!

(clip from a SB short)

”SpongeBob: Ooh, I didn’t realize you were such a colorful character! I’m green with envy! (laughs)”

Kacy: Funny enough, I am actually going to be reviewing an MLP episode with “green” in the title! Yeah, you heard me right! So the title I am going to be reviewing is called... Green Isn’t Your Color! Which is another Fluttershy episode! It’s in season 1, and you know what else is kinda funny about it? Both this and Viva Las Pegasus were segment 20 episodes of that given season. Thought it would be interesting to point it out. So without further ado, let’s get into the review of the MLP episode!

Episode analysis[]

Kacy: So, it starts with Rarity and Marley with their trip to the spa. As they are going through their spa appointments, and a famous fashion photographer pony, Photo Finish is coming over to take some pictures featuring her clothes. Rarity says that Fluttershy must be in it as she wants her to cover. Fluttershy is a bit uncomfortable about this at first, and goes with it anyways. Turns out that Fluttershy ended up getting the spotlight, not Rarity. Making the fashion pony jealous. Though it may seem nice, Fluttershy does not want to be a part of it, and doesn’t really care for the spotlight. Rarity is understandably jealous of Fluttershy. Find that kinda funny since in the previous episode, she says a lady does not get jealous. However, Pinkie does not want each of them to know how they feel about it all for... some reason. Fluttershy tried to make herself less attractive, but it does not work. Eventually, the truth gets out, and they reveal how each feel bout this. And all does get resolved at the end. So now I analized it, what do I have to say about it?

Review[]

Kcy: First of all, I do like how there is something different to this cliche. Sure, someone is jealous that the other person got the spotlights, and it did turn out that person B is no time into edit. But what I like about it, is that we know from pretty early on that person B... or Fluttershy in this case is not into this fashion stuff. Plus, it did lead to plenty of funny moments. Like hen Fluttershy said she could just scream from being so frustrated, only to let out what is perhaps the cutest little scream I have ever heard. Or when Fluttershy said she could just kick something, she ends up like, barely nudging the vase. It was pretty interesting to see Fluttershy getting praised so much. Oh, and as it turns out, Fluttershy did as a matter of fact look pretty good in green. I’d say she should wear that more often. I mean, that’s even my kind of color! So it was quite cute to see Fluttershy like this. Come to think of it, did she wear green in Suited for Success? I don’t know. Honestly, aside from this episode, I haven’t seen season 1 in a while. This, I would say it isn’t one of the better episodes of season 1. It does have a good moral that you should always be honest with your friends. And I do lasso like how Fluttershy down’t get consumed by the spotlights. Of course she’s not comfortable with it! After all, she is a bit more of an introverted pony. However, this episode did have a couple issues though. While I can appreciate the message that you should always be honest with your friends, I don’t think it was executed well enough. And that’s because, Pinkie pie’s role felt... odd. Yeah, keeping a secret from your friends is important, if that secret will be nothing damaging. But Pinkie made it seem like that breaking any secret would automatically be a friendship Enders. And Sam makes a good point. She should’ve allowed Twilight to tell Rarity that Fluttershy was uncomfortable, and tell Fluttershy that Rarity was jealous. It would’ve made this thing easier. I suppose it was funny how Twilight tried to keep that secret away from Fluttershy and Rarity, but still. It did seem odd of Pinkie to just assume things like that. Oh well. But aside from that, I honestly don’t have much to say about this episode! It was a fun episode in season 1, and I would recommend checking out the episode!

8/10
