The floor numbering convention for places or buildings with 2 or more stories is as follows:
- Most common: only numbers are used in ascending order with higher numbers for higher floors. 13 may or may not be included depending on the owner of the place.
- Either G or 0 can be used for some places for the "ground" floor. L can be used for "lobby" if the building has a lobby.
- For floors underground or basements, 0 can be used (rarely), but most commonly the basement is lettered B, and if there are any more basements under it the next available letter is used for it. For example, if there are 4 basements, they would be lettered B, C, D, and E.
